It was established in 2016 to serve as a primary resource for research, education, and taxonomic study of Somaliland&amp;rsquo;s vascular plants, and although its holdings are modest&amp;mdash;on the order of a few hundred specimens&amp;mdash;it has contributed valuable botanical information used in scientific literature. The herbarium is part of the university&amp;rsquo;s Biodiversity Museum and focuses on documenting the region&amp;rsquo;s native vascular plants, supporting teaching and local flora research.
